237kms South East by road from Perth amongst hillocks near Balingup this Colonial Homestead/Inn has stood since around 1860 and is one of the few remaining staging Inns in Western Australia that is still largely in its original form. It is constructed of brick in a late rendition of the Old Georgian Style. The original colonial facade features a verandah across the front of the building, the original shingle roof has since been covered with corrugated iron, low doorways and small glass window panes remain creating an ambience that can only be experienced in a building of this era.

The interior has nearly 300m of floor space with 3 double bedrooms one with built in robes, formal dining room with open fire, formal lounge room, plus another lounge with wood heater, country kitchen, huge walk in pantry, bathroom and two lock up toilets, the laundry is in a separate building outside built in the 1950's, several rooms have the original wooden ceilings and high skirting boards.

Classified by the National Trust in 1979 the property was entered into the Western Australian Register of Heritage places in 1994. The Homestead sits on a 2056m landscaped block featuring the remnants of the original house orchard, the Inn is opening shortly for short stay accommodation.

One of the oldest residences in W.A. the Inn is in excellent condition, a little over 2 hours drive from Perth, and convenient to all major South West tourist attractions, a great place to live.
