237kms south east by road from Perth nestled amongst the rolling hillocks near Balingup this Colonial Homestead/Inn has stood since around 1860 and is one of the few remaining staging Inns in western Australia that is still largely in its original form. It is constructed of brick in a late rendition of the Old Georgian Style.

The building has a verandah across the front of the building and originally had a shingled roof which has since been covered with corrugated iron. Some original timber ceilings, low doorways and small glass window panes remain creating an ambience that can only be experienced in buildings of this era.

Classified by the National Trust in 1979 the property was entered into the Western Australian Register of Heritage places in 1994. The Homestead/Inn sits on a 2056m landscaped block featuring the remanent’s of the original house orchard and is the centre of a small three lot colonial style enclave, and can be used as a private residence or commercially as is currently operating as an antique bric-a-brac business.
